Award-winning Gilded Age dark comedy adds its first California screening

RIVERSIDE, CA — Plucked has been named an Official Selection of the Riverside International Film Festival, marking the film's first California screening and its first festival appearance since its World Premiere.

The selection follows the film's World Premiere at the Garden State Film Festival in March, where Plucked won Best Horror Feature Film.

“This film was made in one house in Rhode Island by people who were mostly arguing about dinner plates,” said co-director Usher Morgan. “Watching it travel across the country is a strange and very good feeling.”

Set in Gilded Age New York, the film follows Katherine Greene (Katie Vincent), a woman who resolves to divorce her emotionally unstable husband in 1886, on the night of a dinner party meant to preserve appearances. The ensemble includes Jared Canfield, Catherine Curtin, J. Anthony Crane, Bryant Carroll and Susan Gallagher.

Plucked continues its 2026 festival run ahead of a theatrical release. Screeners and press materials are available on request.
